Broward Area Description:
To ensure high-quality instruction linked to the school and district strategic goals for all students. To provide a rigorous academic environment that actively engages students; incorporates best educational practices; creates an inclusive environment that addresses the needs of all learners and supports the social/emotional development of the students.
Student Achievement metrics:
90% of Pre-K-2nd students are on/above grade level in reading, language, and math. 85% of 1st-2nd students are on/above grade level in reading, language, and math. 80% of students achieve Level 3, 50% achieve Level 4, and 20% at Level 5 on FAST exams. Junior Class ACT Average Score of 21 100% of BPA seniors meet the requirements for Graduation. 50% of all students in Intervention grow two or more years in Reading and Math.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students. Help shape and develop a school-wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment for each student. Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding, and respect for the communities in which they identify. Implement and uphold BPA behavior management system that aligns with campus-wide initiatives while developing students' character and sense of community in the classroom. Complete all lesson internalization based on curriculum vision to achieve district goals Collect and analyze student data to make effective decisions to maximize achievement Discuss student's progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators Implement state learning standards and BPA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations. Implement formal and informal assessments to track each student's progress and learning needs, adjust lesson plans accordingly and update the grade book weekly. Communicate students' progress with students and families every week Effective facilitation and personal use of technology as a communication and educational tool to improve student achievement and manage work-related tasks. Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all students' needs. Participate in weekly check-ins, grade-level meetings, before and after-school duties, and school-wide meetings and functions. Engage in summer and year-long district, school, and personal learning and development. QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
Experience:
Experience in a classroom setting preferred
Licenses or Certifications:
State certification required Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of curriculum and instruction Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment
Physical Requirements:
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move
