GENERAL FUNCTION

Certified Teacher or Education Professional Eligible for Certification - school days, non-school days including Spring & Winter break, some Saturdays upon request.

KNOW HOW

: The YES (Youth Empowerment & Success) Program Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and impactful educational experiences for club members. This role focuses on improving academic achievement, fostering a love for learning, and supporting youth development. The YES Program Teacher will design and implement lesson plans, facilitate academic enrichment activities, and provide targeted support to help members reach their full potential. The YES Program Teacher should have strong classroom management and instructional skills, passion for youth empowerment and academic success, the ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and excellent communication & organizational skills. Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Florida Teacher's Certification, as well as an Emergency First Aid & CPR Certificate. Candidates must be able to teach in an informal environment.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Education, Youth Development, or a related field preferred. Experience working with children and youth in an educational or afterschool setting.

• Analyze Edmentum reports to track academic performance and identify areas needing targeted intervention.
• Work closely with the Academic Success Director and other staff to align programming with club goals.
• Participate in regular staff meetings and professional development sessions.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with students for extended periods. Ability to lift and move educational materials and supplies (up to 25 lbs). Capable of participating in physical activities, including outdoor recreation and movement-based learning. Adequate vision and hearing to supervise and interact with students effectively. Patience and emotional resilience to support students with diverse learning needs and behavioral challenges. Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, staff, and families. Ability to remain calm and effectively manage classroom disruptions or conflicts. High level of enthusiasm, energy, and passion for working with youth.
