Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic After-School Teacher to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children during after-school hours. In this role, you will facilitate a variety of educational and recreational activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and creativity. Your enthusiasm and dedication will inspire young learners to explore, discover, and grow while ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Responsibilities Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety through attentive child supervision and behavior management. Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and youth group activities that foster development and teamwork. Maintain a structured classroom environment with effective classroom management techniques to promote positive behavior. Assist children with homework or tutoring needs, providing support tailored to individual learning styles. Follow first aid protocols and be prepared to respond promptly in case of minor injuries or emergencies using CPR or AED when necessary. Collaborate with parents, guardians, and team members to communicate children's progress and address any concerns. Uphold all childcare standards, including child development best practices, safety procedures, and program guidelines. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies. Certification in first aid, CPR, and AED operation is required; ongoing training is encouraged. Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom or group setting effectively with strong leadership skills. Experience in outdoor work environments or outdoor activity facilitation is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members. Background in special education or experience working with children with diverse needs is a plus. $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
