Job Description

Make an impact in the life of a 6th-grade student by providing essential support as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI). This contract opportunity is conveniently located near Marietta, GA, and offers the flexibility of a part-time schedule, consisting of two 30-minute sessions per month. As the dedicated TVI, youll deliver direct, specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs outlined in the student's IEP, while collaborating closely with school staff to ensure full accessibility and exceptional educational experiences.
Desired Qualifications:
Active Georgia PSC certification with a valid Vision Impairment/TVI endorsement Demonstrated experience supporting students with visual impairments in a school setting Solid understanding of IEP compliance, accommodations, and accessibility technology Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with educators and families Organized, reliable, and passionate about making education accessible to all learners
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction for a 6th-grade student according to their specific vision needs Conduct two 30-minute sessions per month, using evidence-based strategies and specialized materials Work alongside classroom teachers to ensure instructional content and activities are fully accessible Provide expert guidance on assistive technology, appropriate accommodations, and classroom accessibility Monitor and document student progress, providing regular updates to the school team Support the implementation of IEP goals and compliance with state and district standards This part-time role offers the opportunity to make a focused, meaningful difference for a student while maintaining professional flexibility.
