Standard Internship $ Paid Full Time Description We are a small NAEYC accredited preschool. Our play based program is nearly forty years old. We meet children where they are. The director will be the lead teacher and mentor the intern in the the Three's and Young Fours class for the 2026/2027 school year. The intern will be one of our assistant teachers who is currently pursuing her ECE Associate's Degree at Ivy Tech Community College. Mentoring and supervision will be daily. Responsibilities Assist managing and teaching the Threes and Fours classes. Caring for children in Early and Late care. Observing circle time lead by the mentor on MW and lead circle on TTh, as practiced in the Beginnings class the previous school year. Contribute to lesson planning. Create the weekly class blog and share with families. Three hours of paid study time are factored into the 40/week schedule. Maintain responsibilities for the
INEAYC T.E.A.C.H.
scholarship and Work Learn. Maintain State Health and Safety, PTQ, and NAEYC standards. Take on responsibility for a Family Engagement or Mission project that already exists (opportunities with the Hospitality Committee are Trunk-or-Treat, Teacher Appreciation) or create a new one. Qualifications The student currently has a Technical Certificate in ECE from IVY TECH and a year of teaching experience with the program. She maintains mandatory criteria for the State of Indiana for an employee of a Registered Ministry. Learning Objectives To continue to build upon student's strong skill set of supporting young children. To prepare student for their practicum in the spring. To gain confidence in lesson planning, classroom management, and family communication. To learn to collaborate with a new teaching team, comprised of the director as lead teacher/mentor and the veteran Threes and Young Fours assistant teacher. To communicate and collaborate with administrators and entire staff to meet program goals.
