Description:

Teacher will be responsible for being a team member that delivers academic instruction to groups of students enrolled in an alternative setting. Along with instruction, the teacher will be the liaison between the students, parents, and staff, and will provide a continuum of academic, behavioral, and wellness support to students, collaborating with colleagues within the school's Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) team.

Westfield High School Administration Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Fulfills WWS mission of ensuring high levels of learning and growth for each student and fulfills WWS vision of all Rocks being Life Ready in an alternative setting that is an extension of the high school Member of WHS Professional Learning Communities, on the Shamrock Success Academy Collaborative Team Prepares lesson plans and selects instructional materials meeting state standards for group and individual instruction. Determines instructional materials and teaching techniques to meet individual or group needs Provides specialized assistance and devises special instructional aids to meet individual educational needs. Maintains classroom discipline Collaborates with team teacher, team instructional assistant, site administrator, and school counselor daily Works with school counselors to respond to students' personal, academic, discipline, and/or attendance related needs; provides additional support to students in need. Participates in school and extension center activities, including but not limited to in-services, back to school nights, parent conferences, school projects, and student activities. Participates in all WHS or equivalent SSA professional development opportunities Education, Experience, and Qualifications Certified Indiana secondary content area teacher (Math/English preferred) Connects well with students and invests in them reaching their full potential, especially students who have not experienced much success within a traditional K-12 environment Communicates extensively with families
