Company Overview Washington Square Academy is dedicated to providing a high-quality education in a nurturing environment to students in Grades 5-8. Summary We are seeking an experienced English Teacher, trained in the classic literary canon, looking to work part time:

Mondays, Tuesdays, & Wednesdays:

8:30am to 12:00pm

Thursdays:

9:30am to 2:45pm This role would be ideal for someone looking to supplement retirement income while maintaining connections with children and literature. The position will focus on developing engaging curriculum, implementing effective teaching strategies, and ensuring orderly classroom management. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet curriculum standards. Manage classroom dynamics to create a positive learning environment. Assess student progress through standardized testing and provide feedback. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience. Foster a love for reading and writing among students of all levels. Incorporate technology into the classroom to enhance learning opportunities. Requirements Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field. Proven experience working with students in an educational setting. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students effectively. Familiarity with curriculum development and instructional strategies. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
