GENERAL DUTIES
Support school teachers, students, and school leaders with best teaching practices for education of multilingual learners (MLLs) and with the DESE compliance at school level. These include but not limited to:
Facilitates LAT and some PLTs, Co-plan, model and support grade level teams (if needed) in modeling effective instruction to fulfill MLLs needs. Support teacher planning/co-planning to implement SEI strategies.
Collaborate with District Coordinators and directors as well as other coaches and principals. Being able to answer and support compliance questions. Collaborate and support ACCESS planning and administration Additional duties as determined by the school principal and/or MLE director.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experienced (3+ years) and DESE licensed teacher in relevant content who has demonstrated exemplary teaching and instructional leadership skills.
A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university;
Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education teacher licensure in grade and subject area appropriate for the assignment;
Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement for core content teachers
Ability to work with diverse population;
Knowledge of MA Curriculum frameworks, WIDA Standards, curriculum, instruction, and assessment;
Knowledge of differentiated instruction and response to intervention helpful
COMPENSATION
CTU contractual rate
All teachers are members of the Chelsea Teachers Union (CTU). The length of the school day is 6.5 hours, but subject to longer hours for schools with extended day. The number of school days are 184 days. For salary information, please see CPS website.
