Aug 25, 2026 Job Description Cohasset Middle School is seeking a licensed full-time French-speaking facilitator for a student-centered world language classroom. In addition to being able to teach French levels 1-3, the ideal candidate will be able to:
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning, capture student imaginations, and are based on the Massachusetts World Language Curriculum Framework.
  • Promote the development of students' language proficiency and critical thinking skills
  • Enable all students to attain the goal of communicative-based language instruction
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver culturally relevant thematic units of study
  • Identify authentic target language materials and develop appropriate communicative tasks
  • Revise and refine teaching strategies, materials, activities, and assessments to meet the needs and interests of all students.
  • Promote equity and appreciation of diversity
  • Apply Universal Design Strategies to lessons
  • Use technology (Google, Sanako language lab, and other cloud-based platforms) to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Maintain a welcoming, safe, orderly and supportive classroom by teaching and establishing routines and rituals.
  • Encourage, monitor, and provide feedback on the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Participate in department and school meetings and events, team meetings, and other collaborative opportunities to further student learning and school culture.
  • Attend to all professional duties and responsibilities.
