Aug 26, 2026 Job Description Leominster Public Schools Life Skills Teacher/Severe Special Needs Samoset Middle School 2026-2027 School Year Leominster Public Schools is seeking a special education teacher for a substantially separate, Life Skills classroom for students at the middle school. The lead teacher will work collaboratively with other service providers and staff including OT, Speech, Physical Therapy, BCBA, and Special Education Coordinator. Essential Job; Develops and implements IEPs with clear and appropriate IEP goals and objectives. Develops programs to meet diverse student needs within the classroom and community settings. Develops appropriate curriculum consistent with the Common CORE standards. Integrates student IEP objectives into classroom curriculum. Designs and implements lesson plans and activities which incorporate student IEP goals and objectives. Develops and coordinates successful integration or transition plans for students. Models and implements appropriate behavior management and communication/language development strategies. Models and implements proper physical management/self-help interventions. Coordinates MCAS and MCAS Alternative Assessment administration. Structures classroom environment to provide optimal learning opportunities. Communicates effectively with student families, therapists and other team members. Demonstrates effective classroom management techniques. Supervises classroom staff: Paraprofessional and Tutors.
