Job Description

Positions available for Group Leaders in our Extended Day Before and After school program.
Hours:
2:30 or 2:45 p.m. to 5:00, 5:30 or 6:00 p.m.. Opportunities for more hours during Early Release Days, No School Days and Vacations. Hours vary. Candidates must be available 3-5 days/week. Must be a minimum of 18 years old and preference will be given to those with prior experience working with children. Starting Rate of pay depends on experience and qualifications.
Candidates must:
Enjoy working with children. Show warmth, caring and respect for all children. Be reliable. Demonstrate responsible professional and personal habits in working and interacting with others. Be positive, happy, enthusiastic and energetic. Be a good role model. Have strong classroom management skills and be comfortable leading a group of 6-10 children. Be someone very capable of taking initiative, but also adaptable to working as a team and accepting direction. Respond well to challenges with perseverance, flexibility and cooperation.
Responsibilities Include:
Planning and facilitating play based activities in the arts, sciences, physical fitness, building, theater, music, literature, cultural ventures, etc. Encouraging and engaging all children in both planning and participating in activities. Maintaining all safety protocols at all times, including keeping areas and supplies clean and tidy. Promoting all school and program safety and behavior protocols in a consistent manner at all times. Participating in activities with the children and encouraging them to participate in something new to them. Full job description available upon request.
