Job Description

Middle/Upper School Math Teacher The Tome School is seeking a candidate for the full-time role of Middle/Upper School Math Teacher. Qualified candidates should have the capacity to teach honors level math courses to 5th through 9th grade students. Subjects will cover pre-algebra, introduction to algebra and geometry with an emphasis on building the foundation for upper school math courses. The ideal candidate will develop and incorporate innovative lessons that encourage and understanding of complex subject matters, when appropriate.
Qualified candidates should have:
(1) solid knowledge and understanding of higher level math principles, (2) the capacity to teach honors courses to students, and (3) a willingness to take responsibility for student progress. The ideal candidate has a knowledge of current teaching methods, has excellent communication skills, and is seeking a community of learners that share our values of respect, responsibility and honesty. Responsibilities Present lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments etc.) Assess and record students' progress and provide grades and feedback Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom Collaborate with other teachers, parents and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences etc. Skills Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills Well-organized and committed Creative and energetic Strong moral values and discipline

$37,500.00 - $52,500.00 per year
