A Middle or High School Teacher teaches middle school students, usually in grades 6 - 12, in a public or private school. Teaches one subject, or a group of subjects, such as math and science; works with one class all year or teaches different classes of students throughout the day. May mentor students, coach a school team or advise a student club. May specialize in working with students learning English or students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Education & Experience Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in education Ability to communicate in the required language(s) both orally and in writing Required valid, current Michigan Teaching Certificate for the appropriate grade level (6-12) and subject area Prefer valid, current Michigan Teaching Certificate for the appropriate grade level (6-12) with at least two endorsements Demonstrated success working with historically underachieving students and closing achievement gaps Be recognizes as a collaborative instructional team member Job Responsibilities Teach district approved curriculum Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and times designated Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like, and communicating these objectives to students Diagnose the learning disabilities of students Evaluate pupil's academic and social growth; keeping appropriate records and preparing progress reports Conduct parent-teacher conferences for education related purposes outside the instructional day Supervise classroom and students Other duties as assigned This is a full time position.
