5 hours per program day (4.5 hours per week) . The scheduled time includes preparation/setup before programming and cleanup afterward. Reliable transportation to both Detroit and Dearborn locations is required. Position Summary Ally Learning LLC is seeking enthusiastic and dependable After-School Program Instructors to facilitate our Crafty Kids and Coding101 enrichment programs for elementary and middle school students. All curriculum, lesson plans, supplies, and program materials are provided by Ally Learning. Crafty Kids is a hands-on enrichment program designed to encourage creativity, self-expression, problem-solving, and collaboration through fun and engaging arts and crafts activities. Coding101 introduces students to the fundamentals of computer programming in a fun, interactive, and age-appropriate environment. Students use visual, block-based programming to develop skills in logical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and technology. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and are looking for consistent, part-time afternoon hours during the school year. Responsibilities The After-School Program Instructor will: Facilitate Crafty Kids and/or Coding101 activities using curriculum and materials provided by Ally Learning. Prepare the classroom and materials before each program session and assist with cleanup afterward. Lead and support small groups of elementary and middle school students. Create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment. Build positive relationships with students and school staff. Use positive reinforcement to encourage participation, confidence, creativity, and appropriate behavior. Maintain effective communication with Ally Learning leadership and school personnel. Follow Ally Learning curriculum, program expectations, and school-site requirements. Arrive on time and maintain reliable attendance throughout the 32-week program. Perform other program-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Ideal candidates will have:
At least one year of college education. At least one year of tutoring, teaching, mentoring, childcare, youth programming, or related experience. Previous experience working with elementary and/or middle school students. Interest or experience in STEM, coding, arts and crafts, education, or youth enrichment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, enthusiasm, professionalism, and a positive attitude. Ability to effectively manage and engage groups of students. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Comfort using basic technology and learning educational technology platforms. Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to both program locations. Ability to lift and move program materials and boxes weighing up to 10 lbs. Ability to successfully complete required background checks.
