Program Director Position Overview:

The Lead Before/After School Teacher is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for children in the before/after school program at Marvelous Kidz Learning Center. This role requires strong leadership, a passion for education, and the ability to create a safe and enriching environment for children. The teacher will manage the daily operations of the program, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with licensing and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership:

Plan, implement, and evaluate daily activities that align with the program's educational goals, including academic support, STEM, arts, and physical activities. Create a structured schedule that balances academic learning, recreational activities, and social-emotional development. Serve as the primary point of contact for parents/guardians, providing updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns.

Student Engagement:

Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment that encourages participation and learning. Support students with homework assistance and skill development in core subjects like math, reading, and science. Promote teamwork, leadership, and social-emotional learning through group activities.

Team Supervision:

Oversee assistant teachers and aides, ensuring program quality and adherence to daily schedules. Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to staff. Coordinate and communicate with the Program Director regarding staff schedules and training needs.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by adhering to licensing regulations, health and safety protocols, and organizational policies. Maintain accurate attendance records, incident reports, and other documentation as required. Monitor and maintain a clean, organized, and well-equipped learning environment.

Parent and Community Engagement:

Communicate regularly with parents about program updates, schedules, and special events. Act as a liaison between the program and the school/community to support student success and family involvement.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with school-age children in an educational or recreational setting. Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a child care or after-school program preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

Strong leadership and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, parents, and staff. Ability to plan and implement engaging and educational activities for school-age children. Familiarity with child development principles, social-emotional learning, and positive behavior management techniques. Proficiency in maintaining records and ensuring compliance with state and local regulations. Certifications (Required or Preferred): CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Child Care Licensing Training or relevant professional development.

Work Schedule:

Before School Hours:

6:30 AM - 8:30

AM After School Hours:

3:00 PM - 6:30 PM Additional planning and staff meeting hours as needed.
