Hazel Park Schools Hazel Park is seeking applicants for the position of a Hazel Park Junior High School Resource Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The district is served by caring and professional teaching and other staff who provide instruction and support to our students. The Hazel Park community is proud and supportive of its schools, the staff and student population. The successful candidate for this position will be an honest, approachable communicator, who is student-centered in his or her approach.
Qualifications:
Valid Michigan secondary teaching certificate. Must possess a special education endorsement. (SV, SA, SL, SE, SM, SC, SB, SK)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Must meet No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Standards for position. Must work closely with and consult with general education teachers to assist in developing appropriate programming for students with special needs. Must be able to provide assistance and instruction in the general education classroom as well as pull out to help students be successful in their education. Must be proficient in developing Present Level of Functional Performance Statements and IEP goals and objectives. Must be proficient in developing behavior intervention plans and using Positive Behavior Intervention d Supports (PBIS). Must be proficient in implementing IEP's and Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies. Must be responsible for case management for each student. Must have the ability to make accommodations to the general curriculum. Must have knowledge of RtI and Pattern of Strengths and Weaknesses. Must be able to assist students in developing positive study skills and work habits. Must perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Other qualifications are also considered in the final selection of a person to fill this position. The search for a highly qualified applicant for this position is not restricted to this district.
