Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning and the Hazel Park Junior High Principal, the Project Lead The Way teacher is responsible for classroom instruction of the following Project Lead the Way (PLTW) courses: Design and Modeling and Medical Detectives. These courses integrate science, technology and math concepts with engineering in a Project Based Learning format.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in Math and/or Science, Instructional Technology preferred Gr. 6-12 certification required, Math or Science preferred. Experience in teaching PLTW, CAD or engineering courses at the middle or high school level preferred Knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Office applications, Google Docs for Education, and web 2.0 interactive tools Knowledge and experience with 3D printing preferred Familiarity with basic troubleshooting for Windows machines More About Project Lead The Way Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is a national nonprofit organization that partners with middle schools and high schools to implement curriculum that promotes math and science achievement. Implements curriculum that emphasizes hands-on experiences in STEM Provides nationwide support network for teachers Uses activities, project, and problem-based learning that have real world application Allows students to explore math, science and technology Visit the website at http://www.pltw.org/Responsibilities Include:
Attend required training Implement the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) curriculum Collect and analyze data to assess performance of students in the PLTW courses and develop strategies for addressing the needs of the students. Develop collaborative relationships with other PLTW teachers at Hazel Park Junior High. Implement, manage, and maintain resources and equipment inventory processes for PLTW classes Identify culturally relevant materials, resources, content, multi-media, and software that support the PLTW curriculum Collaborate with Hazel Park Junior High content area and PLTW teachers Expand the STEM initiatives at the middle school level Support STEM club and other STEM related activities Interested applicants may submit an application through the Hazel Park Schools website: https://www.hazelparkschools.org/departments/human-resources/employment-opportunities/Compensation:
