Job Overview Love working with kids but don't want to spend your entire day in a preschool classroom? This might be the job for you! Early Impressions is looking for a School-Age Teacher to join our team and help make before- and after-school hours a fun, safe, and meaningful part of children's day. Early Impressions is made up of 8 locations around Jackson County. For this position, we are hiring at our Springport (300 W. Main St), Northwest (6900 Rives Junction Rd), Woodville (3950 Catherine St), and Vandercook Lake (1005 Floyd Ave) locations. Our school-age programs serve children ages 5-12 , giving you the opportunity to work with older children through games, crafts, sports, creative activities, homework help, and plenty of opportunities to build real relationships with the kids in your care. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, likes staying active, and wants a part-time schedule that works around school, family, or other commitments.
YOUR SCHEDULE
Before School:
6:00 AM - 8:00
AM After School:
2:30 PM - 6:00 PM Additional hours may be available during: School breaks Early dismissals Professional development days Special events Summer programming
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a School-Age/Wrap Around Teacher, you'll help create an environment where children feel safe, welcomed, and excited to be there. Supervise and actively engage a group of children ages 5-12. Plan and participate in fun, age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, sports, and other recreational activities. Help children with homework and provide academic support when needed. Encourage positive behavior, independence, teamwork, and problem-solving. Build positive relationships with children and their families. Create an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported. Communicate with parents and center staff about children's experiences and needs. Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. Work with your team to ensure smooth transitions during arrival, dismissal, and throughout the day. Follow all Early Impressions safety, supervision, and licensing requirements.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 18
years of age or older A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience working with children is a plus, but not required. Patient, dependable, energetic, and positive. Comfortable managing and engaging a group of school-age children. A strong communicator and team player. Able to adapt to changing situations and work in a fast-paced environment. Willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification if not already certified. You should be comfortable standing, walking, bending, sitting, and actively supervising children throughout your shift.
PAY & BENEFITS
$14.00-$16.00 per hour , based on education and experience.

$14.00 - $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 25.0 per week
