Scope of Responsibilities Instructs students in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth in the subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women. Minimum Qualifications Four-year degree from an accredited teacher preparation program. Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement. Must be Highly Qualified in the content area with the endorsement of BA or BX Grades 6-8 or 6-12. Demonstrated skill in oral and written communication. Desirable Qualifications Experience working in an urban setting. Endorsed in one additional core subject area. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents. Minimum of three years of successful experience working with children and families in an urban educational setting and/or diverse/multi-cultural setting.
