Century Adventures after school care is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After School Care Assistant to join our team at Century Elementary School. This part-time position involves providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children in our after-school program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children, fostering their development, and ensuring they have a positive and enjoyable experience during their time in after-school care. Responsibilities Supervise and engage with children during after-school activities, ensuring their safety and well-being. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, and homework assistance. Maintain a clean and organized environment, including setting up and cleaning up after activities. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to address any concerns or needs. Assist in managing behavior and promoting positive social interactions among children. Monitor and document attendance and any incidents that may occur during the program. Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for all children. Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent(not necessary if you are a student); additional education in child development or related fields is a plus. Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with children and parents. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude are essential. Must pass a background check and meet any other state or local licensing requirements. Availability to work after school hours, typically from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM on school days.
