This position can be full-time or part-time. Subject areas are also flexible but are likely to include some combination of ELA, social studies and potentially religion depending on the strengths and interest areas of the candidate. Key Responsibilities of this position include: Supporting and contributing to MMSA's mission of being a joy-filled, faithfully Catholic school committed to teaching the love of God, love of neighbor, and love of learning. Assisting in ensuring a joyful, safe and enriching classroom environment. Connecting the Faith to all areas of academic instruction. Identifying and implementing learning strategies to help students grow. academically, socially, physically, and spiritually. Effectively supervising and working directly with students. Evaluating student performance and working with other teaching staff to best support student growth. Preparing lesson plans. Communicating effectively with students, parents, co-workers, and supervisors Working positively and supportively with co-workers and the principal in maintaining a safe, welcoming, relationship-driven,, and energetic classroom. Attending meetings/special initiatives and professional development required by the school, parish, and/or Archdiocese. Ensuring confidentiality of students, families and school information. Supporting policies within MMSA employee handbook. Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the principal. Qualifications Practicing Catholic (if teaching religion) Minimum of a Bachelor Degree is required Current MN teaching license is a preferred but not required Pass required background check and any additional required pre-employment training (e.g. Virtus) Demonstrates proficiency in:: effectively and positively working with others maintaining a joyful environment making every child feel safe and appreciated making wise decisions. working without supervision. maintaining professional appearance taking instruction ability to manage and maintain a classroom of students effectively communicating with students, team members, supervisors, and parents
