Job Summary St. Stephen Protomartyr Catholic School is seeking a faith-filled and dedicated Catechist Aide to support the religious education program and assist in fostering the spiritual growth of students. The Catechist Aide works collaboratively with the Catechist and school staff to create a positive, faith-centered learning environment that promotes Catholic teachings, values, and traditions while supporting the mission of Catholic education. Job Description Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist the Catechist in preparing and implementing religion lessons, activities, and classroom discussions. Support students in the development of their faith through prayer, religious instruction, and participation in faith formation activities. Help maintain a positive, respectful, and faith-centered classroom environment. Assist with classroom management and student supervision during lessons and activities. Prepare instructional materials, classroom resources, and supplies as needed. Provide individual and small-group assistance to students to reinforce lesson objectives. Support sacramental preparation activities and other religious education programs. Assist with school Masses, prayer services, retreats, and other liturgical celebrations as assigned. Encourage appropriate student behavior consistent with Catholic values and school expectations. Communicate effectively with the Catechist and school staff regarding student needs and classroom activities. Maintain confidentiality regarding student, family, and school information. Follow all school, Archdiocesan, and Safe Environment policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Catechist. Job Qualifications Practicing Catholic who supports the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience working with children in an educational, parish, or ministry setting preferred. Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and learning needs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, parents, and volunteers. Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and flexibility. Successful completion of required background checks and Archdiocesan compliance requirements. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of Catholic teachings, traditions, and practices. Strong organizational and classroom support skills. Ability to engage and encourage students in faith formation activities. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to serving students in a faith-centered environment.
