Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Before School Instructor to join our vibrant youth development team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children before the start of their school day. Your enthusiasm and leadership will help foster positive behaviors, support childhood development, and prepare children for a successful day ahead. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners while working in a dynamic and supportive setting. Responsibilities Supervise children during morning hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Implement structured activities that promote social skills, creativity, and physical activity Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques Facilitate age-appropriate games, crafts, outdoor activities, and group interactions to encourage active engagement Maintain clear communication with parents and staff regarding children's needs and progress Follow all first aid protocols, including administering basic first aid or CPR when necessary Support children with special education needs or behavioral challenges with patience and tailored approaches Ensure the environment is safe, clean, and organized in compliance with childcare standards Assist with daily setup and cleanup of activity areas to promote a smooth morning routine Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies Certification in CPR and First Aid (including AED operation) is required or obtainable upon hire Experience with special education or working with children with diverse needs is a plus Strong classroom management skills combined with the ability to foster a positive atmosphere Excellent child supervision skills with an emphasis on safety and attentive care Ability to work outdoors comfortably and engage children in outdoor activities Previous experience in youth group activity facilitation or tutoring is advantageous Demonstrated team leadership abilities and effective communication skills Join us as a Before School Instructor and help shape bright futures!
