Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic After-School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising and guiding children during after-school activities, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting the overall well-being of students.
Hours:
Monday through Friday, 12:00PM-6:00PM and 8:45AM-5: 45PM on UCPS Teacher Work Day This position could potentially turn into a Full time Summer Position with our Summer Camp based upon performance and employee's interest.
Key Responsibilities:
Incorporate interactive and innovative teaching methods, including the use of technology and multimedia resources. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to align teaching strategies with program goals. Plan and lead educational and recreational activities. Provide homework assistance and academic support. Supervise students to ensure their safety and well-being. Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment that supports diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior. Maintain a clean and organized classroom or activity space.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, or related field preferred. Teaching certification or relevant licensure (if applicable). Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with modern educational tools and resources. Must obtain North Carolina Child Care Criminal Qualifying Letter Present a TB Screening/Test and Health Assessment Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage groups of children effectively. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with diverse student populations Ability to tailor lesson plans for students ages 5 years-old to 12 years-old Creativity in curriculum design and lesson delivery.
