Health Teacher Reports to: Building Principal
Terms of Employment:
Full-Time/Up to 185 days
FLSA Classification:
Exempt Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree and hold a NH Educator Certification or be eligible for a site-based learning plan, as demonstrated by a statement of eligibility.
Job Goals:
The teacher maintains up-to-date knowledge of Health Education Standards and state frameworks, effectively planning instruction around critical wellness topics such as mental and emotional health, substance abuse prevention, nutrition, and comprehensive sexual health. They design relevant formative and summative assessments that evaluate both functional health knowledge and essential health skills (e.g., decision-making, goal-setting, and advocacy), consistently monitoring student understanding to adjust pacing and address misconceptions.
