Educators will be responsible for leading and supervising students in NextWaveSTEM's engaging workshop, ensuring a safe and fun learning environment. They will facilitate hands-on experiments with coding activities in video game design, drones, AI, and more, fostering curiosity and a passion for STEM and emerging technologies. Responsibilities Lead and supervise a group of 7th and 8th grade students in coding activities using NextWaveSTEM curriculum. Prepare materials and set up activity areas for daily programs. Provide guidance and support to students as they work on projects and activities. Encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills among students. Monitor student behavior and address any issues or conflicts that arise. Maintain a positive and inclusive environment. Qualifications Bachelors degree (held or currently pursuing) Experience working with middle-school aged children in a camp, school, or after-school setting Strong interest and knowledge in STEM fields and emerging technologies such as drones, 3D printing, robotics, and more Ability to lead and engage a group of ~25 middle school students Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Highly reliable and consistent Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Teaching certification (held or or currently pursuing) is a plus! Schedule 3:30-4:15, 2-3 days per week September 21 - January 29, following district calendar Employment type In-person 1099 Contractor position
