You will:
Design inquiry-based, concept-driven instruction that builds critical thinking Teach in a Spanish-English bilingual environment where language is integrated across content Align instruction with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) Support social-emotional development alongside rigorous academics Collaborate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) focused on student outcomes Use data-driven instruction and MLSS frameworks to support all learners This is a school where teachers create, refine, and lead learning, not just deliver curriculum. Position Summary The Elementary Bilingual Teacher is a licensed instructional professional responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality instruction aligned with NMIS's mission, IB framework, bilingual education model, and Multi-Layered System of Supports (MLSS). This role blends instructional design, student support, assessment, and collaboration to ensure strong academic, linguistic, and social-emotional outcomes for all students. Key Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum Design Plan and deliver IB-aligned (PYP) instruction connected to New Mexico standards Develop units, lessons, and assessments that promote inquiry, transfer, and student agency Differentiate instruction for multilingual learners Student Support & Data Use (MLSS) Implement Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions within an MLSS framework Monitor student progress and adjust instruction using formative and summative data Set measurable goals aligned to student needs Classroom Environment & Management Establish a structured, inclusive, and engaging learning environment Supervise students across classroom, transitions, and school settings Collaboration & Compliance Participate in PLCs, IEP/504/SAT meetings , and school-wide initiatives Implement accommodations, behavior plans, and instructional supports Family Communication Maintain consistent, professional communication with families Lead parent-teacher conferences and provide timely progress updates Professional Responsibilities Maintain lesson plans, emergency sub plans, and instructional records Use school systems for attendance, grading, and reporting Required Qualifications Valid New Mexico PED Teaching License Bilingual Education Endorsement (Spanish/English) Ability to teach in a bilingual classroom setting Current background check in compliance with school policy
Preferred:
Experience with International Baccalaureate (IB) or inquiry-based instruction Experience with
MLSS/RTI
frameworks Strong skills in data analysis and differentiated instruction
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
$65,000 - $93,000 (based on experience and placement)
Stipend:
$3,500 (Bilingual Endorsement on license)
