Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and dedicated After-School Instructor to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children during after-school hours. In this role, you will lead a variety of educational and recreational activities, foster positive behavior, and support the social and emotional development of students. Your enthusiasm and leadership will help children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally while ensuring their safety and well-being. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in young lives through dynamic youth programs. Responsibilities Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety at all times through attentive child supervision and effective behavior management. Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of engaging activities including arts and crafts, sports, educational games, and outdoor adventures aligned with youth development principles. Assist with homework help Implement classroom management strategies to maintain a positive and inclusive environment conducive to learning and fun. Provide first aid and respond appropriately to minor injuries or emergencies following established protocols; hold current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) certifications. Support children with special needs by adapting activities as necessary and collaborating with special education professionals when applicable. Foster teamwork among children through group activities such as youth group projects or camp-style experiences that promote leadership skills. Maintain clear communication with parents, guardians, and team members regarding children's progress or concerns while adhering to confidentiality standards. Requirements Prior experience working with children in elementary schools. Demonstrated classroom management skills along with knowledge of behavior management techniques to promote positive conduct. Valid certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols; willingness to obtain or renew certifications if necessary. Experience working with children with special needs or in inclusive settings is highly desirable. Ability to engage children through creative teaching methods such as tutoring or childhood development activities. Outdoor work experience preferred for supervising outdoor activities safely in various weather conditions. Strong team leadership skills combined with the ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities effectively. Excellent communication skills tailored for working with young children, parents, and team members in a supportive manner.
