Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced 8th Grade Algebra Teacher to join our middle school team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mathematics, a commitment to high academic standards, and the ability to effectively prepare students for the New York State Algebra I Regents Exam. This role involves teaching Algebra as a high school-level course to all 8th grade students.
Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned Algebra I lessons. Prepare students for success on the NYS Algebra I Regents Exam. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners. Utilize formative and summative assessments to inform instruction. Maintain high expectations for student learning and behavior. Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and school-wide initiatives. Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress. Participate in professional development and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. Qualifications At least a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Valid New York State teaching certification in Mathematics (grades 7-12 or 5-9). Demonstrated success teaching Algebra I, preferably in a middle school setting. Experience preparing students for the NYS Regents Examination. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Commitment to high academic standards.
