Job Description

Make afternoons meaningful! Join our after-school team at a public elementary school in Midtown Manhattan, where we create a welcoming, creative, and engaging environment for children to unwind, play, explore, and have fun after the school day ends. Our diverse selection of recreational classes is designed to spark imagination, creativity, curiosity, and connection . As an Assistant, you'll be an important part of making sure every afternoon is safe, positive, and enjoyable for our students. What You'll Do As an Assistant, you'll be a friendly and dependable presence for students and families. You'll help keep our program running smoothly while making sure children feel supported, engaged, and cared for.
Your responsibilities will include:
Create a safe, caring, and enriching environment where children can relax, play, and learn. Support teachers with activities, transitions, and classroom needs. Teach and supervise students as needed, helping them stay engaged and involved. Keep children engaged during snack time, ensuring a fun and well-organized experience. Interact with students and parents with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm. Provide guidance and assistance to students throughout the afternoon. Help maintain an organized, positive atmosphere where every child feels welcome. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is organized, articulate, adaptable, responsible, and great with kids . The ideal candidate enjoys working with elementary-age children and can bring energy and patience to a busy after-school environment.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree Experience working with children under 13 Ability to complete NYS DOH background check and fingerprinting requirements First Aid/CPR certification preferred but not required Schedule The position follows the NYC DOE school calendar . Candidates must be available to work 2:15-5:15 PM every Monday-Friday, when school is in session . Why Join Us?
