Schoharie Central School District has an anticipated probationary opening for a full-time Middle School English Teacher (Grades 6-8) beginning on September 1, 2026.

The successful candidate will provide engaging, standards-based English Language Arts instruction for students in Grades 6-8 that develops reading, writing, speaking, listening, research, and critical thinking skills while supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of young adolescents. The selected candidate will foster a classroom culture where students are encouraged to think critically, communicate effectively, appreciate diverse perspectives, and develop a lifelong love of reading and learning. Through meaningful instruction, authentic learning experiences, and strong relationships, the successful candidate will create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom where every student feels valued, challenged, and supported in reaching their full potential.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Strong relationship-building skills with students, families, colleagues, and the community.
Knowledge of current instructional best practices, adolescent literacy, and the New York State Learning Standards for English Language Arts.
A commitment to creating meaningful learning experiences that develop critical thinking, effective communication, creativity, collaboration, and student engagement.
The ability to design engaging instruction that strengthens students' reading, writing, speaking, listening, research, and analytical skills through authentic and relevant learning experiences.
The ability to differentiate instruction and provide appropriate supports to meet the diverse academic, social, emotional, and learning needs of all students.

Salary according to the Schoharie Teachers Association Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Candidates must possess and maintain the appropriate New York State certifications in English Language Arts (or the equivalent).
