After-School Program StaffPosition Overview We are seeking a caring, responsible, and energetic individual to join our after-school program team. This position involves working directly with children ages 3 and up in a safe, fun, and supportive environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, is patient and dependable, and can create positive relationships while helping children learn, play, and develop important social skills. Responsibilities Supervise and engage children ages 3 and up during after-school hours. Provide a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for all children. Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, outdoor play, and educational activities. Assist children with homework and other age-appropriate learning activities. Encourage positive behavior, cooperation, sharing, and respectful communication. Assist with snack time, transitions, clean-up, and daily routines. Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and program staff. Monitor children's safety and well-being at all times. Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging program space. Follow all program policies, safety procedures, and childcare guidelines. Qualifications Experience working with children is preferred. Must be patient, dependable, responsible, and enthusiastic. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work with children of different ages, personalities, and developmental needs. Must be able to maintain a safe and positive environment. CPR/First Aid certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain certification. Previous childcare, education, camp, tutoring, or youth-program experience is a plus. Schedule This is an after-school position, with hours primarily during weekday afternoons and early evenings. Additional hours may be available depending on program needs.
