Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic Afterschool Teacher to join our dynamic youth development team. Responsibilities Supervise children during afterschool hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Plan and facilitate engaging activities including arts and crafts, sports, educational games, and outdoor play Implement Literacy and Math Curriculum Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques Support children with homework assistance and tutoring to reinforce learning objectives Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment conducive to learning and fun Implement first aid protocols when necessary, including CPR and AED operation, to respond promptly to emergencies Collaborate with team members to develop age-appropriate curricula that promote childhood development and youth engagement Experience Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred Demonstrated classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development best practices Experience in outdoor work environments or sports coaching enhances ability to lead active play Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or willingness to obtain these certifications upon hire is required Background in special education or working with children with special needs is a plus Proven ability to lead youth group activities and foster positive relationships with children and families Join us in creating a vibrant space where children can thrive!
