Job Description

The Roles We are hiring two after-school enrichment instructors at Columbus Academy in Gahanna. You may apply for one or both. 1. LEGO Design & Play — Tuesdays Grades K-1
  • currently 14 students enrolled (max 20) Tuesdays, 3:30-4:25 PM 8 sessions: Sept. 22, 29
  • Oct. 6, 13, 20, 27
  • Nov. 3, 10 Device-free — all materials provided by Kodely 2. Rube Goldberg Engineering Lab — Fridays Grades 2-3
  • currently 9 students enrolled (max 20) Fridays, 3:30-4:25 PM 5 sessions: Sept. 18, 25

13 Device-free — students build chain-reaction machines with ramps, levers, pulleys and dominoes; all kits provided Plan on roughly 1.5 hours on site per session , including setup and pack-up. Students arrive via CASE pickup at 3:30 PM from the Lower Lobby, and checkout is at 4:25 PM. What You'll Do Lead a group of up to 20 students (K-3) in an after-school enrichment workshop using Kodely's pre-built curriculum — no lesson planning required. Set up and pack up class materials before and after each session. Create a positive, engaging, and well-managed learning environment. Coordinate with Kodely Operations and the Columbus Academy site contact. Submit attendance, incident reports, and material updates in real time.
Qualifications You must:
Have prior K-8 teaching experience listed on your resume, such as: Classroom Teacher Co-Teacher Student Teacher Paraeducator Teaching Assistant Structured Tutor After-School Instructor Learning Center Instructor Be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for the entire 2026-27 school year without employer sponsorship. Commit to every session date listed for your assigned weekday, with no mid-session withdrawal. Be able to commute reliably to Gahanna, OH by 3:15 PM on your assigned day. Respond to Kodely Operations within 4 business hours during the school year. Not a Fit If Your only child-facing experience is babysitting, general childcare, camp counseling, day camp assistance, or occasional tutoring. You cannot commute to Columbus Academy in Gahanna. You cannot commit to every session date on your assigned weekday. Requirements Before You Start Background check scheduled through the Columbus Academy Business Office (Kodely will send you the scheduling link once you are hired) Negative TB test Ohio-required Mandated Reporter Training Certificate Why Kodely Curriculum, kits and materials are built and shipped for you — you teach, we handle the prep.
