After School Adventure Program (ASAP) Leader Reports to:
Youth Program Supervisor Hours:
2-6pm
Position Length:
15 - 25 hours per week (varies) Position Purpose Oversee kindergarten through fifth grade youth during their afterschool hours in a recreational setting. This position will assist the Lead Coordinator of a group (organized by grades) to help with program planning, organizing activities, serving snacks and looking after and interacting with children. Essential Responsibilities Implement daily activities for students including arts and crafts projects as well as outdoor activities. Implement activities from set-up through clean-up, utilizing staff aides and volunteers. Maintain a high level of safety and discipline within the group, both with the children and the staff. Establish a pleasant and enthusiastic rapport with children, staff and parents. Oversee children in both indoor/outdoor settings. Participate in District safety protocol for all events and programs; enforce District rules and regulations Assist in afterschool pickup, either through driving a vehicle or walking to and from the schools that border the Park. Knowledge and Abilities 1. Ability to establish excellent working relations and communication with supervisors, subordinates, and general public. 2. Must possess practical common sense skills while maintaining a strong work ethic and be able to adapt to a constantly changing and fast paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude. 3. Ability to take initiative with minimal supervision. 4. Safely operate District vehicles to pick up children from local schools. 5. Strong oral and written communication skills. 6. Ability to read, write, and speak the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance. Minimum Qualifications GED preferred. Current First Aid/CPR preferred. Current Oregon driver's license required.
Limited Benefits:
Sick leave accurred. Free membership to the on-site fitness and aquatics center. Wages commensurate with experience, starting at $15.05 - $16.95 per hour. Negotiable depending upon experience.
