Job Description

TEACHER Qualifications:
AA Degree in Early Childhood Education BS Degree in Early Childhood Education with PA Certification in PK-4 Instructional I Preferred (Required for PreK Counts classroom assignments) Bilingual Language abilities, English/Spanish, a plus
Responsibilities/Duties:
In accordance with curriculum philosophy, developmentally appropriate lesson plans based on children's abilities and interests. .Plan and implement educational activities to include managing the classroom and planning activities according to the curriculum that are developmentally appropriate. Evaluate and record children's progress and communicate with parents on a regular basis. Provide and maintain an atmosphere in the classroom that promotes school readiness and developmentally appropriate practices. Terms of Employment Conditions of Employment Luzerne County Head Start requires staff possess current, valid Background Clearances (3) per state/federal regulations. Proof of Degree/Certification and Experience Required to meet the Qualifications for position. Pay Rates based on education/credentials:
AA Degree in ECE
  • $22.66/hr BS Degree in ECE
  • $26.

Cert/Instructional I Certification
  • $28.16/hr Bilingual Abilities Preferred (Eng/Spanish)
  • 5% additional pay $1,000 Sign-On Bonus!
