Company Overview Best Friends Day Care Centers, LLC is dedicated to providing high-quality childcare services for children from six weeks old through fifth grade. With over 30 years of experience serving central Pennsylvania, our programs foster development, positive attitudes, and educational growth in a nurturing environment. We are committed to supporting children's early learning journeys and ensuring a safe, engaging space for every child. Job Summary We are seeking energetic and dedicated Before & After-School Program Staff to join our team at our STEAM Academy location. In this role, you will create a vibrant, safe, and supportive environment for children before and after school hours. Your enthusiasm and leadership will help facilitate engaging activities, promote positive behavior, and ensure each child's well-being throughout their time with us. Hours are from 6:30-8am and 3:30-6:00pm M-F. Duties Supervise children during before and after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Lead engaging youth group activities, including games, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and educational projects Manage classroom behavior using positive discipline strategies and behavior management techniques Assist with homework support and tutoring to reinforce learning concepts Follow first aid protocols and respond promptly to any injuries or emergencies using CPR or AED as needed Collaborate with team members to plan age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development and social skills Maintain a clean, organized environment that encourages creativity and safety Skills Strong classroom management and child supervision skills Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including camp or youth programs Knowledge of first aid procedures, CPR certification, AED operation, and first aid protocols Background in special education or childhood development is a plus Ability to lead outdoor activities safely in various weather conditions Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members Demonstrated leadership in team settings with a focus on youth development Creative teaching experience with young children through theater, tutoring, or recreational activities Compassionate approach to Christian counseling or mentoring is desirable Prior babysitting or childcare experience preferred Join us to make a meaningful difference in children's lives while enjoying a dynamic work environment filled with growth opportunities!
Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
