We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Teacher to join our team. As a Middle School Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the minds and futures of young students. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of homeschooled children and contribute to their educational development. We are currently hiring for the 2026-2027 school year, beginning September 2026 with training throughout the end of August. Our school runs from 9:00am-2:00pm Tuesdays-Thursdays with optional additional hours from 2:00-4:00pmResponsibilities:
- Work in small groups of 4-6 students based of academic ability to teach math and reading
- Work with parent helpers to assist the children not directly working with you
- Implement curriculum in a fun and engaging way
- Plan and implement games and activities
- Provide instruction in various subjects, including literacy, math, science, and social studies
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth by sending weekly parent emails
- Utilize screen free teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with other teachers to enhance curriculum materials and coteach classes
- Foster a supportive and respectful Christian classroom community that promotes positive behavior
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students, promoting their social development
- Communicate regularly with Director of Education regarding student progress and achievements
Requirements:
- Teacher Certification (active or inactive) in any grade range or subject
- Strong math skills, with the ability to teach up through Algebra
- At least 2 years experience teaching in a classroom or group setting
- Knowledge of Pennsylvania homeschool law
- Homeschooling or tutoring experience preferred Join our family at Roots to support these students in a meaningful and encouraging way!
- Job includes one student to attend tuition free, others at a discounted rate.
- We typically start all teachers off at $20-25/hour.
