Principal Job Goal:
To work with students in overcoming academic gaps in reading; to communicate with parents, teachers and principals regarding each student's needs and progress.
Qualifications:
Certified teacher with at least three (3) years of experience at the elementary, middle school or high school level Be able to establish a collaborative relationship with other teachers, parents and administrators Organized and skilled at record keeping Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Performance Responsibilities:
Participates in state, district, or school level professional training programs and learning activities. Administers necessary or required student assessments to identify student strengths and weaknesses. Keeps careful records on each student's progress. Identifies students for inclusion in the planned academic interveition and determine when student progress reaches a level that indicates intervention is no longer needed. Utilizes technology to strengthen and support student instruction. Communicates with the principal and other identified school personnel on the progress of students. Models for teachers and parents when needed, effective teaching or intervention strategies. Responsible for the planning and implementation of effective instruction. Upholds professional standards and ethics. Performs other duties as assigned.
