JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a part-time, in-person position (1-5 days per week) supporting Camp Fire's Afterschool Enrichment Programs at partner schools in Austin ISD, Eanes ISD and Montessori campuses . Shifts are approximately 1.5 hours per day , typically from school dismissal until 4:00 or 4:30 PM . You will lead either Archery Club or Nature Club sessions for elementary school students. Archery Instructors will provide safe, engaging instruction and supervise all archery activities. Nature Club Instructors will facilitate hands-on, nature-based learning experiences aligned with outdoor education and environmental stewardship principles. This role requires on-site presence at school locations in Austin, TX. Instructors will arrive around 15-20 minutes before school dismissal, pickup their group and take them to the archery range for Archery Club or classroom for our Nature/Environmental Club. Archery Club will be outdoors and Nature Club will be indoors as well as outdoors. Qualifications Experience working with children and teenagers Knowledge of and passion for outdoor activities (most activities will be outdoors) Excellent internal/external communication skills Ability to lead and supervise groups of children Minimum Level 1 Archery certification completed preferred. Camp Fire can provide USA Archery Level 1 certification First Aid and CPR certification. Camp Fire can provide American Red Cross Adult/Pediatric CPR/AED/1st Aid certification Ability to pass a background check (CBI/Fingerprint) check will be required Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. (I-9 Form will be verified by Camp Fire) Experience in a camp or outdoor education setting is a plus Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills Reliable transportation
