Overview Join our vibrant team as an Afterschool Teacher, dedicated to creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children from early childhood through youth. As an Afterschool Teacher, you will lead dynamic activities, supervise children with enthusiasm, and support their developmental needs while ensuring their safety and well-being. Duties Supervise children during afterschool hours from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Facilitate engaging youth group activities, including arts and crafts, sports, drama, and outdoor play to promote social skills and physical activity Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management strategies Implement age-appropriate educational activities that support childhood development and early childhood education principles Maintain a safe environment by adhering to first aid protocols and being prepared to respond with CPR or AED operation if necessary Support children with special needs by adapting activities and providing inclusive care in accordance with best practices in special education Collaborate with team members to plan daily schedules, monitor progress, and ensure smooth transitions between activities Requirements Proven experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED operation (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Experience working with children with special needs or in inclusive environments is highly desirable Ability to supervise children outdoors and indoors while maintaining a vigilant eye on safety at all times Strong communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members effectively Background in early childhood education or childhood development is preferred Previous experience in youth group activity facilitation or sports coaching is a plus Join us in shaping the next generation by providing a fun, safe, and enriching afterschool experience!
