Baroody Camps is growing, and as we grow, we need you! Join a team with a mission to partner with 100+ schools throughout the DMV area , providing engaging before and after school enrichment programs that inspire children to learn, explore, and have fun. Baroody Camps provides enrichment programs to elementary school students throughout Northern Virginia and Maryland. We are seeking energetic, dependable individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in children's lives through teaching subjects such as Science, STEM, Cooking, Sports, and more. There are also opportunities to teach additional enrichment subjects based on your skills and interests. The ideal instructor enjoys working with children, has experience teaching, coaching, tutoring, or leading youth programs, and is comfortable teaching across multiple program areas using Baroody Camps' provided curriculum. We are looking for candidates who have availability during our peak program hours, generally between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM , although exact schedules vary by school and county. Locations Programs are offered throughout Northern Virginia, including: Falls Church Arlington Montgomery County Chantilly Centreville Alexandria Fairfax Springfield Applicants do not need to be available for every location. Placement is based on your availability and proximity. Start Date September 2026 Compensation $25-$40 per hour , based on experience and qualifications. Typical Schedule Most classes are approximately 1.5-hour shifts , including setup and cleanup, with approximately 1 hour of instructional time.
Typical weekly schedule:
3 teaching days per week (Monday-Friday) Availability should include: At least two weekdays between Tuesday and Thursday One additional day on Monday or Friday Most instructors work approximately 4-8 hours per week , with additional opportunities available based on location, subject expertise, and instructor availability. Responsibilities Arrive at assigned school site on time for each scheduled class (typically between 2:00 PM-6:00 PM) Prepare the classroom and materials before students arrive Take attendance and monitor snacks when applicable Teach Baroody Camps' provided curriculum for approximately one hour Create a fun, engaging, and structured learning environment Supervise and manage students in a safe, positive, and respectful manner Ensure all students are safely dismissed according to school procedures Clean and organize the classroom following each class Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and Baroody Camps team members Pick up program supplies from the Baroody Camps office as needed: Science and Cooking instructors typically complete weekly supply pickups STEM and Sports instructors generally pick up supplies before each session and as needed throughout the season Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age High School Diploma or GED required Previous experience working with children through teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, childcare, or similar experience preferred Some basic computer skills Strong communication and customer service skills Excellent classroom management skills Ability to adapt to different teaching environments Ability to lift and transport classroom supplies and equipment as needed Reliable transportation is required Must successfully complete all required background checks prior to employment Training Baroody Camps provides paid training to help instructors feel confident before entering the classroom.
