Location:
Elementary Schools in Fairfax, Falls Church, Arlington Position Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and engaging After School Program Instructor to join our team. The instructor will provide a safe, supportive, and fun environment for elementary school students during after-school hours (3-6 pm). The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, is energetic and creative, and can lead age-appropriate activities while maintaining a positive and well-managed classroom environment. Responsibilities Supervise and engage students during the after-school program. Plan and lead educational, recreational, arts and science enrichment activities. Create a welcoming and inclusive environment where students feel safe and encouraged. Maintain appropriate classroom and behavior-management expectations. Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, teachers, and program staff. Monitor student safety and follow all program policies and procedures. Prepare and organize materials and activity areas. Participate in special events, themed activities, and program projects. Complete required attendance, incident, and other program documentation. Qualifications Previous experience working with children is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or a degree in education, child development, recreation, or a related field is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead groups of children and maintain a positive learning environment. Dependable, patient, energetic, and responsible. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or willingness to obtain certification. Must meet applicable background-check and child-safety requirements. Pay:
