Job Description

Job Summary Join our vibrant before and after-school program team as a Before and After School Program Teacher, where your enthusiasm and dedication will inspire children to learn, grow, and thrive beyond the classroom. In this dynamic role, you will create a safe, engaging environment that fosters creativity, social development, and academic support. Your positive energy and commitment will help shape memorable experiences for children during their after-school hours, making a meaningful difference in their lives. Duties Supervise children in a variety of activities including homework assistance, arts and crafts, sports, and games to promote fun and learning. Implement classroom management strategies to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all participants. Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities that support childhood development and early childhood education principles. Provide first aid when necessary and ensure health and safety protocols are consistently followed. Collaborate with parents, guardians, and school staff to communicate children's progress and address any behavioral or developmental concerns. Manage behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques. Support children with special needs by adapting activities to meet individual requirements, including those related to special education. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or babysitting settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of classroom management, behavior management, and childhood development strategies. Certification in first aid and CPR is required or obtainable upon hire. Background in early childhood education or related fields such as childcare or daycare is advantageous. Strong communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and team members. Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously while maintaining a lively and positive atmosphere. Ability to transport children to and from school to the center. Experience with sports coaching, theater arts, tutoring or Christian counseling is a plus for creating diverse activity options. $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
