What You'll Do This role blends two parts of our program, giving you a fuller weekly schedule: School partnership: Lead a Tuesday school-day chess session, 12:00pm-2:45pm, at a local Bellevue school following the Chess4Life curriculum. Potentially leading an afterschool club with a max of 15 students from 3:00pm
- 4:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Premium Center Evening Classes:
Lead 1-hour evening chess classes at our Bellevue center Tuesday, Thursday, and/or Friday between 3:30pm and 7:00/8:00pm Teach students of varying levels using our proven Chess4Life curriculum.Across both:
Manage a safe and positive learning environment. Track student attendance, progress, and provide individualized feedback. Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and the Chess4Life team. Collaborate with teammates to share ideas and continually improve. What We're Looking For Age 18 or older. Chess knowledge and willingness to learn our curriculum. Enjoy working with children; patient, kind, and encouraging. High energy, fun, and comfortable in a classroom setting. Comfortable working in both a school environment and our center classroom. Dependable, punctual, and organized. Reliable transportation Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Confident using computers, email, and digital documents. Able to pass a background check. Bonus Points If You Have Previous experience teaching or coaching kids.
