We are looking for people who love working with children in nature, being outdoors, utilizing nature as a classroom, and bringing a high level of creativity to the position.
Position:
Full-time Lead Outdoor Farm School Teacher - must love working in the outdoors as this is a fully immersed outdoor school
FT Hours:
40 hours per week: Monday-Friday (some evenings and weekend days as needed) The heart of Sequoia's Treehouse Farm School is its respect of the young child. We believe all children are born to be great thinkers. As an innovative school we serve children ages 3.5 through 7 years. Creative growth is encouraged by designing a curriculum that allows each child to contribute in his or her unique way. Children, parents, teachers, and the natural environment form a complete circle of learning, inspiring all to join in the process. Qualified candidates will have an Associate's degree in Education (we can assist with you acquiring a degree), Outdoor Education, Environmental Education or related field or equivalent experience, 2 or more years working with children; possess clear communication skills, verbally and in written form; and have a basic proficiency with computers. They will also have an attention to detail, effective interpersonal and problem solving skills, and be organized and able to multi-task. They will love working with children, being outdoors, utilize nature as a classroom, and understand play-based curriculum and the value of it. A willingness to study more is required.
