Job Description

This position is great for someone looking for a little extra income with minimal hours, varying into more hours come school breaks & holidays. The hours we're looking for would be aprox. 10-15 hours a week. The position has a flexible start time between 2:30-3:30pm and your shift would end at 5:45pm once all the kids have gone home and the classroom is clean. As a 501c3 religious organization, North Cascades Christian Fellowship operates a fully licensed childcare center (North Cascades Child Development Center- Sedro Woolley) as part of our ministry. We are dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children while instilling Christian values. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated After School Teacher to join our team. As a teacher, you will play a crucial role in fostering the intellectual and creative growth of the children in our care.
Responsibilities:
Take accurate daily attendance as students arrive from school buses Maintain awareness and compliance with Washington State licensing rules and teacher-to-student ratios Serve provided afternoon snacks following food safety guidelines Instruct children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth Plan and implement age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities Create and maintain a fun, structured, and safe learning environment Ensure the health, safety, and supervision of all students in your care at all times Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents Communicate professionally with staff and leadership
Qualifications:
Experience working with school-age children preferred Knowledge of Washington State childcare licensing rules (or willingness to learn) Strong classroom management and supervision skills Positive, patient, and professional communication style Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team Must meet all DCYF licensing requirements (background check, TB test, training hours, etc.)
