Appointment to begin approximately late August 2026. Duties and Responsibilities

• Performing maintenance as needed on fluid preserved specimens
• Assisting with reorganization efforts and cataloging new specimens as donations arrive
• Assisting with loans to instructors and researchers who wish to use the museum's holdings
• Identification of fishes down to family from jars of mixed species
• Assisting with selecting specimens to be used in teaching labs centered around ichthyology
• Coordinating equipment donations to other instructors/researchers Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Botany, or related field 0-1 years of experience in a museum collection setting and familiarity with standard operating procedures associated with fluid collections Proficiency with Excel or similar programs Experience in a laboratory setting such as at a university Biology lab ckass Desirable Qualifications Overall knowledge of fishes, with an emphasis on Hawaiian taxa Previous experience/enrollment in an undergraduate ichthyology lab Experience working with routine maintenance pertaining to fluid collections Experience with outreach/education of undergraduate students
