Part-Time Gallery Assistant (Part-Time, Temporary)Description:
Vose Galleries seeks a part-time Gallery Assistant to support daily gallery operations during a busy exhibition season. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional fine art gallery while working closely with exhibitions, collectors, consignors, and gallery staff. Responsibilities- Assist with daily gallery operations, including answering and directing phone and email inquiries
- Wee visitors and provide a professional front-of-house experience
- Maintain inventory, client, and artwork records within gallery databases
- Assist with exhibition preparation, installation, and related materials
- Support marketing efforts through social media content, updates, and promotional materials
- Photograph artwork and assist with image processing andanization
- Coordinate shipping logistics and help prepare artworks for shipment
- Assist with research projects, artist information, and archival initiatives
- maintain the physical appearance andanization of the gallery
- Provide general administrative support as needed
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be pursuing or havepleted a degree in Art History, Museum Studies, Arts Administration, Fine Arts, or a related field and will possess a genuine interest in the gallery profession. They will be dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn the many facets of gallery operations.- Articulate and professionalmunication, writing, andanizational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Previous experience in a gallery, museum, auction house, or artsanization preferred
- Familiarity with social media platforms and basic photography is a plus
- Ability to lift and move artwork and gallery materials when necessary
