ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for fulfilling the chapter's mission: to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Responsible for facilitating the wish experience for each child and family, while serving as the main point of contact for the chapter for Wish Assists including International Travel.WHAT YOU'LL DO
Wish Manager Manage the wish experience through open communication with wish-granting volunteers and wish families. Manage the timely flow of all wish files in caseload (between 80-110 wishes) to exceed benchmarks established by Make-A-Wish® America ("National Office"). Manage Wish Assist Program and execute wish assists as submitted by other chapters (between 20-40 annually). Create a budget and plan to exceed each wish child's expectations while working to offset cash costs associated with the wish using guidelines established by the chapter. Provide all financial documentation for each wish granted and within established benchmarks for wish file close. Document all activity with wish families, volunteers, medical teams and vendors for each wish in chapter database while updating wish status as needed. Work as a team with interns, volunteers, chapter staff and donors to meet fundraising goals, including developing relationships with vendors who may provide services or products to the chapter. Create wish itineraries unique to each wish and wish assist. Provide in person wish support as needed for local and celebrity experiences. Provide after-hours support as needed for direct wish caseload. Maintain sensitivity to and confidentiality of families being served by the chapter. Identify and communicate to chapter leadership all potential opportunities and/or relationships that will increase the chapter's ability to raise funds and grant wishes. Identify challenges and recommend solutions to senior leadership. Attend chapter events as needed in support of the chapter's mission i.e. Wish-Granting Volunteer Training. Adhere to all National Office performance standards and chapter internal controls, policies and procedures.Benefits
